18 March 2021 is the day marked on a calendar for the plantation of King Goodwill Zwelithini.
King Goodwill Zwelithini’s send-off is certainly something people have never seen before, he was planted instead of being buried.
The Amazulu king died last week due to the Covid-19 complications in Durban hospital at the age of 72 years. President Cyril Ramaphosa is also at the ceremony in honour of King Goodwill Zwelithini to deliver the eulogy.
– It is reported that the ceremony will not be broadcasted live.
The word “planted“ might have puzzled many people but the Zulu nation understands. A political member of Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP) Blessed Gwala spoke to SABC saying that King Goodwill Zwelithini is not like everyone else.
Here in KwaZulu-Natal, we believe that the King is unlike everybody else, the king is different. He is just like an angel that has been sent down to earth in order to rule for a certain period of time and then he will also go and allow the other one to come in.
You can’t say the King is dead because he can’t die, an angel can’t die. He is a God-sent leader who has come down to do a particular assignment and rule over the people for a certain period thereafter then he has to depart and allow the other one to to take over. Said IFP Blessed Gwala.
The “plant“ meaning in this is said that the next king who will be formally elected by the family to take over will have King Goodwill Zwelithini planted in him. Blessed Gwala said this is how it works.
… Meanwhile Rasta The Artist went to the funeral to honour King Goodwill Zwelithini with two paints portrayed for him. In the video he talks about he was threatened but he made sure he goes because this is what he loves. Watch below;
