5-year-old girl murdered. According to police, the minor’s body parts were found scattered last Friday after the child was reported missing a week earlier.
In another suspected ritual murder, police in Manicaland are investigating the death of a five-year-old girl whose body parts were found dumped on a mountain in Nyanga.
Investigations have so far pointed that a yet-to-be-identified male suspect who is now in police custody was allegedly last seen with the minor.
“The ZRP is investigating circumstances surrounding a murder case in which remains of a five-year-old female juvenile were found on a mountain in Nyanga on December 10. “Some body parts were seen scattered at the scene of the crime.
“The victim, who had been reported missing on December 4, was last seen in company of a male suspect (38) walking towards the suspect’s residence,” said police National spokesperson Assistant Commissioner, Paul Nyathi.
Ass-Comm Nyathi is also appealing to more leads to solve the death. “Anyone with information to report at any nearest Police station,” said Ass Comm Nyathi.
Recently, police from the same province also probed into a 14-year-old girl’s death, circumstances surrounding the incident sparked countrywide distaste. The girl allegedly died whilst giving birth before church leaders and her husband at a Marange shrine where she died tried to conceal the act.
Meanhile, police have also arrested six suspects in Filabusi in connection with a murder at Bunyip Mine. The six include Farai Mpunzi (40), Ndodana Sibanda (30), Mqondisi Sibanda (30), Aneli Sibanda (25), Obvious Nyoni (26) and Luckmore Ncube.
According to police the six, armed with machetes and spears, attacked the now deceased Eric Mahlangu (22) alleging that he had trespassed into their property.
“One of the suspects stabbed the victim on the right thigh with a spear. “The victim tried to escape but collapsed and died a few metres from the scene of crime,” reads a police report.
