Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Siyethemba Sithebe has responded to suggestions that the club’s problems are beyond the squad and management.
Recently on social media, after their 1-0 defeat to Richards Bay, a fan’s post went viral – where he stated that the club needs the intervention of a traditional healer.
While Sithebe noted and showed respect for the opinion, he distanced himself from it being a viable solution.
“Regarding that [issue of ancestors and rituals], everyone has their own beliefs, and obviously if the culture here at the club, they perform ancestral rituals, then as a player, those are things I cannot get involved in,” Sithebe said.
“Him as a supporter [that said those things] if that’s how he sees things that Chiefs need to go in that direction, I don’t know why he thinks that way, but we as players will focus on what is being done here at Kaizer Chiefs, the club.”
Chiefs return to action on Saturday in the DStv Premiership, where they face SuperSport United at Peter Mokaba Stadium.
