Reports say that Tate together with his brother Tristan and two other Romanians have been detained by a Romanian anti-organized crime unit.
The case has been under investigation since April 2022.
“The four suspects appear to have created an organized crime group with the purpose of recruiting, housing and exploiting women by forcing them to create pornographic content meant to be seen on specialized websites for a cost,” said the prosecutors.
They added that, “they would have gained important sums of money.”
Authorities have revealed that during their raid they managed to locate six women who had been trafficked by Tate in the early 2021.
They say, Tate and his crew misrepresented themselves to the victims with ideas of marriage and cohabitation.
“Victims were recruited by British citizens by misrepresenting their intention to enter into a marriage/cohabitation relationship and the existence of genuine feelings of love (the loverboy method),” reads a press statement from the authorities.
The story is still being investigated and we will keep you updated on the progress of this issue.
