Power utility Eskom has confirmed that load shedding will be in operation on Tuesday’s extra public holiday – and until further notice.
Stage 1 load shedding is currently in effect and will be until Eskom posts an update.

Stage 1: 05:00 until further notice
In a tweet, Eskom posted: “Stage 1 loadshedding will be implemented from 05:00 on Monday morning until further notice. This is possible due to the lower demand for electricity during the day, reducing the reliance on emergency generation reserves.”

City of Cape Town electricity customers are, at the time of publishing, load shedding-free which will continue until 22:00 on Tuesday.
Stage 1 will then kick in 22:00 and continue until 05:00 on Wednesday
