Al Ahly have announced the departure of former Mamelodi Sundowns winger Luis Miquissone.
Miquissone, 27, was signed for Ahly by Pitso Mosimane after a standout season with Simba SC in 2020/21.
However, the Mozambique international largely failed to live up to expectations in Cairo, scoring five goals in 28 appearances.
He was on loan at Abha Club but only made four appearances in the Saudi Pro League.
Before his stints with Al Ahly and Simba, Miquissone was signed by Sundowns in January 2018 but was loaned out to Chippa United. Two more loan stints at Royal Eagles and UD Songo in his home country followed.
The winger left Downs without ever playing for the club in January 2020 to join Simba SC where he impressed, in particular in the CAF Champions League.
On Tuesday, Al Ahly confirmed the club mutually agreed to terminate his contract, which was still running until 2025.
“The club ended its relationship with the Mozambican player Miquissone by mutual consent,” the club confirmed in a brief statement.
