Beans and FranksĀ is classic comfort food made with bacon, beef hot dogs, and canned beans. Ketchup, mustard, and brown sugar add a sweet tangy flavor.
Beans and Franks Overview
This is a classic childhood favorite that I loved as a kid. We would eat hot dogs and beans for lunches, and every camping trip. Itās one of the easiest meals to put together, itās affordable, and tastes delicious!
I love that itās budget-friendly and made with only six ingredients. Easy to make on the stove or in the oven. Just dump all the ingredients into a pot. Bacon, beans, hot dogs, sugar, ketchup, and mustard. Heat, stir, and enjoy!

Recipe Tips
- Buy all beef wieners or pork frankfurters for the best flavor. You can also replace beef hot dogs with pork, turkey, or cooked sausages.
- Chop the hot dogs into bite-size pieces so theyāre easy to eat, and heat up faster.
- For a different flavor add Worcestershire sauce, BBQ sauce, a pinch of chili powder, or hot sauce for a spicy kick.
- You can add chopped green onion, chopped bell pepper, or chopped white onion as well.
- You can also serve this with white rice or inside hot dog buns.
How to Store Leftovers
- Refrigerate ā Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for 4-5 days.
- Freeze ā Make a double batch and freeze half for a quick dinner on busy weeknights. Add cooled leftovers to a freezer bag or silicone freezer container and store for 2-3 months.
- Reheat ā These can be reheated in the oven, on the stove, or in the microwave.
