Orlando Pirates midfielder Kabelo Dlamini has explained how head coach Jose Riveiro is managing to get the best out him and the entire team.
Dlamini, 27, has been one of the standout players in Pirates’ recent run, scoring five goals and setting up two more since returning in March.
Pirates reached their second successive Nedbank Cup final after beating Chippa United 3-1, with Dlamini scoring a brace for the Sea Robbers.
After the match, ‘Shuffle’ credited head coach Riveiro for giving the players freedom to express themselves and enjoy playing football, which has seen them reaping the rewards for their hard work.
“Coach is giving us a lot of confidence, he’s giving us a lot of freedom to enjoy ourselves,” he told SuperSport.
“I’m glad with team we managed to show the performance.
“It has been a tough first round of the season for me with a lot of injuries, and I’m happy I bounced back when it matters most for the team.
“I’m happy I’m helping the team now in the second round of the season.”
Dlamini and Pirates are back in action when they face Chippa for a second time in the space of five days.
