The Northern Cape Provincial Organised Crime Investigations Unit and the Colesberg Highway Patrol recently made a significant arrest in the Western Cape.
Acting on valuable information, the authorities apprehended two Somali nationals on Saturday, 20 April 2024, at approximately 09:00. The suspects were found in possession of khat valued at R275,000-00.

Following their investigation, the police traced the individuals to Kraaifontein in the Western Cape. With the assistance of the Western Cape Organised Crime Investigations Narcotics Unit, the suspects were apprehended with boxes of khat in their possession.
The two individuals, aged 38 and 42 years old, are scheduled to appear in the Kraaifontein Magistrates Court in the near future.
