Former Atletico Madrid star Yannick Carrasco ran the show, as Pitso Mosimane’s Abha Football Club lost 5-0 to Al-Shabab.
Mosimane and his team had a 11-day break after moving out of the relegation zone with a 2-1 over Al-Fateh.
However, on Thursday night they lost to Al-Shabab, who moved from 11th into ninth place.
The home side opened the scoring in first half injury time via Carrasco, before netting the second after 57 minutes via Habib Diallo.
Shabab made it 3-0 when Carlos Junior was set up by Carrasco in the 78th minute, with the goalscorer completing his brace six minutes later.
Belgium international Carrasco completed his brace in the 90th minute to Mosimane and his team another heavy defeat.
Despite the defeat Abha stayed above the relegation zone but their contenders for safety are yet to play this round.
Abha, who collected 11 of their 25 points under Mosimane, have six games left to remain in the Saudi Pro League.
The defeat comes a day after Abha announced that Mosimane’s older brother Daniel Khoza sadly passed away.
