TS Galaxy coach Sead Ramovic has expressed his confidence in midfielder Thato Khiba, saying he could become the best midfielder in the league if he keeps on improving and working hard.
Khiba, 27, joined Galaxy ahead of the 2022/23 campaign, joining from Marumo Gallants, where he mostly played as a right-back, making 41 appearances for the club.
The Kaizer Chiefs development product has featured 16 times for The Rockets this campaign, scoring twice and setting up two more, with Ramovic explaining why he is fielding him in midfield, saying the has a very high ceiling.
“I think when he when he came to us, he told me that he played right-back,” he told journalists on Wednesday.
“For me, this is not a right-back actually, for me he is a top quality, the technique, he can see things better when he is central.
“And when he came he struggled with our density of the training. But after a while, when he saw that this is the only way where he can improve, because he sees also from the other players that improved and probably got feedback from the players that if you don’t work hard that you will be replaced.
“And this is a great thing. And he started to train very well and he started to be excellent in a lot of things. And if excellence becomes then a habit, this is who you are then.
“And this is who he is, he is a very great for our team, is a fantastic player and I think he’s 28 now and he is he has a lot of years in front of him.
“And I’m sure that he will improve even more and become the best midfield player in our league.”
