Cape Town Spurs head coach Ernst Middendorp is frustrated by the injury of striker Boitumelo Radiopane as they continue to fight for survival.
Radiopane recently made his return from injury after over seven months on the sidelines. The on-loan striker made his return in a 3-1 win over AmaZulu in February.
The 22-year-old came in from the bench against his mother club Pirates but couldn’t finish the match as he got injured and was replaced by Therlo Moosa.
Since then, he has missed three league matches including the Cape derby against Stellenbosch. Middendorp explained how frustrating it is not to see Radiopane playing.
“Not really coming forward Boitumelo (Radiopane), playing 45 minutes training once or twice, it’s always an issue of being able to have a training week where he was consistently involved and now you can put them in and hope and hope and hope, but football is not about hope,” Middendorp said.
“This is a hard fight you have to retry it in the beginning to sort them in a way at training and 45 minutes here, 45 minutes there, but how was the outcome, not really in a way as we normally would be able though, what are we doing in this moment living on hope and living on really being prepared to have a player in heavy, no, it’s not 100% at all. We can do it and we have done it once or twice, but that’s always that’s not the way.”
