TS Galaxy head coach Sead Ramovic says the trauma of the bus accident in Mbombela will live with him and his squad forever and that they will try and help the children of the woman who passed on.
Galaxy were scheduled to face Sundowns at the Mbombela Stadium last week but saw the game postponed after their bus en route to Mbombela from Johannesburg was involved ina. fatal crash with a VW Polo driver, who was declared deceased on the scene.
The driver allegedly veered into their lane and when the bus driver aimed to avoid crashing into the VW, the two collided head which led to the tragic scenes – that Ramovic and his squad have admitted was very traumatic.
“I think the picture we saw [of the accident] will stay with us our whole lives, so this we cannot change but we should also know our lives are short, we cannot run away, run of us, one day [death] will come to all of us,” Ramovic said when asked by iDiski Times if they are mentally in a better state ahead of their last-16 clash against D’General this weekend.
“This is what we know, we just pray that the woman who lost her life is in the most beautiful place in heaven. We will try our best to help where we can to help the children of the woman, the best we can.
“In the end, there’s a game [to come] and life continues for us, but it’s now almost 10 days, we have to think in front and we know life has to continue, we hope we can get better and hopefully be stronger, get things out our heads. We can’t do it completely but we’ll try and be better [with time].”
Galaxy played out to a goalless draw with Richards Bay in KZN last week ahead of their showdown at the Free State Stadium on Sunday (15h00).
