South African government is looking at stricter lockdown measures to curb the spread of the virus, the meeting is held to discuss the country’s response to the pandemic. The meeting of NCCC is held today to get recommendations to go forward and pass this pandemic. The date of when president Cyril Ramaphosa to address the nation has not yet been confirmed.
Minister of Cooperative Governance Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma and Minister of Police Bheki Cele have recommended that the country to move to the risk adjusted strategy level 4 for only 30 days. This is not the final decision, this are only recommendations.
The country won’t afford to be on hard lockdown for a long time as well as the economy, but for the livelihood of the fellow South Africans many things can happen in the next national address. The date hasn’t been confirmed of when the country will have the family meeting in going forth.
Other officials are concerned about the impact of harsher restrictions might have on the economy called for the relaxation of measures including the ban on alcohol sale and the closing of the country’s beaches, reports stated.
Things in level 4 happened in May 2020
Travel ban > Traveling in between provinces was not allowed, banned. The exception was of transports transporting goods and front-liners.
Curfew of 8pm until 5am.
A once off permit to move between provinces.
The sales of hot cooked food only for delivery.
