‘Skeem Saam’ rubbishes claims that Harriet ‘Meikie’ Manamela is leaving

Actress, Harriet Manamela’s character, Meikie Manamela was sentenced to 15 years in prison last Friday (3 December).

Viewers of SABC 1’s educational soapie, Skeem Saam, are concerned about their favourite actress, Harriet Manamela (Meikie Maputla).

#SkeemSaam has been wondering if the actress has left the show or has taken a break just like her on-screen son, Cornet Mamabolo, who played the role of Tbose Maputla.

Harriet Manamela’s character, Meikie Maputla, got sentenced to 15 years in prison last Friday (3 December) for shooting her stepson, Kwaito Maputla-Seakamela, and her neighbour, Mantuli.

Meikie attempted to kill Kwaito and his mother after she found that her husband, John Maputla, cheated on her with her neighbour and best friend, Mantuli (Dieketseng Mnisi).

The families took DNA tests which also proved that Manutili and John conceived Kwaito (Clement Maosa) from the affair.

#SkeemSaam on Twitter thought Manamela is exiting the show after her character’s sentencing last week.

The show’s publicist, Sumaya Mogolola, has rubbished the actress’s exit and confirmed she’s still with the show.

Mogolola told Daily Sun:

“She’s not leaving the show. Fans would just need to stay tuned to see how it all unfolds.”

She also confirmed that seasoned actor, Austin Mothapo, who plays the role of Noah Matloga is still with the show.

Meikie’s former step-grandson, Noah Matloga, was also sentenced to prison in 2020 for killing Koloi’s (Tshepo Senatle) mother.
