Mamelodi Sundowns have announced they have partnered with Southern Africa’s leading hospitality group, Southern Sun as their official Hotel Accommodation & Conferencing Partner.
While Sundowns have been dominant on the pitch over recent years, the club are now also reaping more rewards off it, as they have added multiple new partners recently, with Southern Sun the latest new addition to the Masandawana family.
“The partnership took into consideration two key stakeholders – our teams and our supporters,” reads a statement by the club.
“Southern Sun’s premium accommodation and quality service made this partnership a clear winner in regards to giving our teams the best advantage to recover from the amount of travel and number of games that they face in a season. For our supporters, Southern Sun are providing competitive discounts in their hotels across the SADC region- which allows Masandawana to save more on away matches and family holidays.
“With Mamelodi Sundown’s demanding travel program and having played 24 games since the beginning of the season in August, the team is proud to partner with a hotel group that understands the requirements of a sports team.
“Quality sleep and diet are part of the recovery process for a sports team, the players and Technical Team can always count on the comfort of the Southern Sun rooms and their world class amenities to provide an optimum environment for the team.
Commenting on the partnership, the Mamelodi Sundowns Chairman, Tlhopie Motsepe said: “We are delighted to share this exciting new partnership with the public. Southern Sun has been a loyal supporter of South African sports for many years, with notable partners being the Comrades Marathon and the Springboks.
Marcel von Aulock, Southern Sun chief executive, says the group is delighted to enter into partnership with Mamelodi Sundowns. “Since the group’s inception more than 50 years ago, we have been supporting sport in South Africa through long-term relationships with many South African sporting bodies. We are thrilled to enter into a partnership with Mamelodi Sundowns, and we look forward to extending our warm hospitality to the team.”
