TS Galaxy star Bernard Parker has revealed what striker Samir Nurkovic brings to the Mpumalanga-based team.
Nurkovic and Parker come a long way after their stint with the Soweto giants Kaizer Chiefs. The duo were both released by the club at the same time as Chiefs made a major squad overhaul ahead of the 2021/22 PSL season.
After leaving Amakhosi, the striker nicknamed ‘Kokota Piano’ joined KZN side Royal AM. But his stay at the club was short-lived after his long-term injury setback.
Ahead of this season, he joined The Rockets and he has found his mojo back under the guidance of outspoken coach Sead Ramovic after being injury free.
So far this campaign, the 31-year-old has only made eight appearances in all competitions. He has found the back of the net two times.
BERNARD PARKER ON SAMIR NURKOVIC’S INFLUENCE AT TS GALAXY
Parker, the former Bafana Bafana international is delighted that Nurkovic is slowly regaining his form and helping the club.
“I’m so happy for Samir [Nurkovic] that he’s scoring goals as for the amount of play he gets is little,” said Parker.
“He has managed to score goals for us. His presence here at the club has lifted the attacking players mostly as for them to give Samir stiff competition.
“With Samir, it’s about the mentality, how he came and joined us. It’s paying off for him and he’s sharing his experience. So I’m happy for him to score goals because it will boost his confidence.
“Just imagine if Samir starts getting more game time, what will he do. We are blessed to have his quality in the team. I also wish Samir can get back to his best as fast as he can.”
