Out-of-favour Orlando Pirates midfielder Fortune Makaringe has been linked with a move away from the Buccaneers.
Makaringe has struggled to break into Jose Riveiro’s starting XI and now, a fellow DStv Premiership is reportedly keen on signing him.
Makaringe has made just ONE start for Orlando Pirates so far this season. In total, the former Maritzburg United star has played just under 290 minutes of action since the beginning of the 2023/24 campaign.

“You know they (Sekhukhune) are playing in Africa and they want to strengthen the squad and one of the players they want to bring in during the next transfer window period is Fortune (Makaringe).” a source told SoccerLaduma.
“They tried in July but things didn’t work out that time but they want to try again in January. They are set to table an official offer and then see what Pirates say about it.
“I think both clubs stand to benefit from this move if it goes through. Sekhukhune will get the player they have wanted for some time now while Orlando Pirates will make some money before he becomes a free agent.”

“The league is the most important competition, it goes without saying,” Orlando Pirates head coach Jose Riveiro said as quoted by TimesLive.
“Thirty games, 15 away and home against everyone in every circumstance, hot and raining. So, it’s the most important competition and we really want to find our rhythm there.”
