Swallows FC captain Lebohang Mokoena has urged the club’s supporters to get behind the team in their fight against relegation.
The Dube Birds are currently 14th on the DStv Premiership standings with a solitary point separating them from the bottom-placed teams.
With eight matches remaining Swallows are in serious danger of being dragged into the relegation zone.
“The only thing I can say is, it’s a mental game,” Mokoena tells KickOff.
“We have the players to win matches, we are playing well, creating chances, and we failing to convert them and I think that’s one thing that has been letting us down.
“If you don’t convert your chances you are bound to drop points or lose matches.
“But playing-wise we are okay, it’s just that I must always try hard to get amajita motivated so that they can understand the nature of the club they are playing for.
“The position we are in, we are not supposed to be there.
“We are not far off from moving from where we are, it’s just about consistency if we can just get two wins in a row and obviously a win gives you confidence going forward.
“The Swallows fans must not panic, there are eight games left and that’s lots of points to play for.
“They must just keep the team in their prayers you know, some of us have worked hard to get this where it is.
“From now on every game is going to be a cup final for us, hopefully, everybody can pull in the same direction and make sure this team survives.
Some of us will try by all means to help these youngsters to keep the team in the top flight so that they can save their jobs.”
