Cheeseboy reveal retirement age

Swallows FC attacking midfielder Lebohang ‘Cheeseboy’ Mokoena has revealed his retirement plans as he reaches the twilight of his career.

The 35-year-old’s contract with the Dube Birds expires at the end of the current season but he insists he is still far from hanging up his boots.

The two-time DStv Premiership title winner says he wants to retire at the age of 43 like AmaZulu FC assistant coach Siyabonga Nomvethe did.

“Even though the body is still strong, at the moment I’m just focused on preparing myself with the business school we’ve been allowed to attend as PSL players,” Mokoena tells KickOff.

“We are trying to fix our transformation from playing to retiring.

“But yes there’ still a couple more years for me you know, it will depend on how to fit my body feels by that time and then I will call it quits.

“Maybe I can still play up until the very same age as Nomvethe retired.

“That’s the goal, but if it’s unreachable then it would be fair enough for me to be happy to reach 20 years in the league.

“I would say what an achievement for me as a professional player or as an individual.

“I want to go on as long as I can.”
